On the 21stNovember, 2011,InstituteofDisaster Preventionheld the signing ceremony of cooperation with the Information Systems for Crisis Response and Management (ISCRAM) ofBerlinand reached agreement on academic exchange, personal training and project cooperation, etc. Chairman of ISCRAM Association, Bartel Van de Walle, president of IDP, Bo Jingshan and vice president, Liu Chunping attended the ceremony.
On behalf of IDP, President Bo expressed a warm welcome to Bartel’s visit. He congratulated on the strategic cooperation and detailed such aspects as the history of the Institute, the education scale, the discipline construction and the professional settings and so on. Meanwhile, Bartel introduced the nature of ISCRAM, the staff composition, the research field and the current situation and prospect of international cooperation. He expressed the willing to put this signing ceremony of cooperation as a start and to push the cooperation between one another in a new mode of thinking. After a warm and friendly conversation, both sides agreed to cooperate in various fields, such as the information systems for crisis response and management, earthquake disaster and emergency management and so on. In addition, both sides agreed to carry out international exchange activities and implement the communication of information and the share of resources.
After the ceremony, Dr. Bartel gave a lecture entitled “Crisis Information Management Research: Perspectives and Opportunities”. He detailed the ISCRAM Association and its relevant research on this field inBerlinfrom the following aspects: ISCRAM, Research Perspective, Research Opportunities, Living Research. After the lecture, Dr. Bartel answered questions from teachers and students carefully. His brilliant lecture and humorous speech won warm applause from time to time. Teachers and students benefited a lot from the extensive interaction during the lecture.
