On November 4th, 2011, in response of the invitation of the president Bo Jingshan, Dr. John J Keating III of Stevens Institute of Technology in theUnited Statesand his wife carried out the academic exchange activity in our institute. During the exchange, Doctor Keating made a report on “Earthquake RescueMe iPhone —Application Software Engineering Theory and Practice“, and had a warm and friendly discussion over such academic problems as the locating of the trapped people with the mobile software and the coding, the decoding and transmitting procedure and so on. After the meeting, Doctor Keating expressed that he was deeply impressed by the academic spirit of the student and teacher and their good command of English.
Afterwards, Dr. Keating had a deep discussion with experts over the earthquake relief, the scale of rescue and the working mechanism. He showed appreciation about the achievement and development of the earthquake relief inChinaand wished for a further collaborative study on this field.
