ISCRAM ASIA 2012 Conference on Information Systems for Crisis Response and Management convened successfully inBeijing,China, from October 17 to 19, 2012. This conference was jointly sponsored byHarbinEngineeringUniversity,TsinghuaUniversityandInstituteofDisaster Prevention, which attracted more than 80 delegates home and abroad including about a dozen of members from IDP. Prof. Bo Jingshan, President of IDP, addressed the opening ceremony on behalf of the co-sponsors and the Bureau of Conference.

The influential conference was based on the 5 previously held ISCRAM-CHINA conferences, which were jointly sponsored by Information Systems for Crisis Response and Management Association andHarbinEngineeringUniversity. The conference focused on theoretical and practical problems of crisis warning, forecasting, emergency response, supervising, evaluation and decision making in the fields of natural disasters, environmental disaster, city security, public security, production security, etc. The ISCRAM-CHINA Conference provides an exchange platform for universities and research institutions to explore new research orientation and cooperation field in the field of Information Systems for Crisis Response and Management. It greatly promotes a more stable and sustainable cooperative relationship among representatives present at the meeting and improves international cooperation level for the study and practice of crisis management.
